PINTESTED

You should know by now of my love affair with Pinterest.  All my friends who do not use Pinterest think I am a creative genius the others are totally unimpressed. "Ya" they'll say "I saw that already on Pinterest."

One of the cute little craft projects I saw one day was this little frame.
I decided to make one and hang it on the wall at the end of the hallway to our  bathroom.  I wasn't sure what Ian would think of it and if he would ever even bother to write on it but he has surprised me and seems to quite enjoy the little love notes I leave for him.  He even reciprocates and leaves me little messages that warm my heart.  Sometimes the notes can even get a little... um...playful for want of a better word and I have to think twice before I tell someone that they can just go into my room to grab something from my bathroom.  Don't worry I am not going to share those ones with you but here are a couple of innocuous ones.

This one was in reference to those hideous peacock pants I wore once( and never again).

This is one from just recently when I redid our bathroom.

Yes, I know my husband's handwriting is neater than mine and no it didn't actually take three weeks for him to notice.  He had been away for that long but it still made for a funny comment that was technically true.

PINTESTED

If you know me at all you know that I am all about Pinterest.  It's a great site to get ideas and save them so that you don't have to search the internet for that great quilt, craft, recipe, or printable you came across once weeks ago.  I'm pretty much addicted but that's a whole other story.

Often the captions under some pictures will say something to the effect that the original pinner tried it and it was the best/easiest/most delicious thing ever.   I have to admit that sometimes I am taken in by these claims and rush out to the store to buy ingredients only to be disappointed. Sometimes though the recipes are worthy of every bit of praise.

DO TRY:

GIVE THESE A MISS!
(No links here, trust me, you won't want them)

Crockpot Sludge Oatmeal

Brownie made in a waffle iron.

That last one was a disaster and a half.  It took me ages to clean my waffle iron.  I was able to salvage some of the brownie and use it as crumble on top of ice cream which was actually rather nice and crunchy.  My advice, don't bother trying, it's not worth the effort it takes to clean up the mess.

CUTENESS

I bought the sweetest clothes pegs last week.  They almost make hanging laundry out a treat...almost.

How cute are these?

and these?

(The quilt Emily made for her new niece. It has the softest pink fabric on the back.)

(a quilt I made that somebody wanted me to post so they could pin it on Pinterest) Pin away E.

(Not as funny as I thought it would be.)

SEW FAR,SEW GOOD.

Have you wondered why I have not been blogging much lately?  Well you can blame it all on pinterest.

This is basically what I have been doing in my spare time, well this and spending time with my sweet little grandchildren.  The idea was to set up an account on etsy.com   and sell some of them (the chevron quilt and the personalized one are taken) but I am having difficulty even thinking about parting with them.  I picked out the fabric, put my blood (at least one pinprick per quilt), sweat (do you know how hot it's been lately) and tears (not really the tears but certainly some frustration) into each quilt and in the end I like them so much that I don't want to let them go but then I really have no need for them. I think I may have a problem.  I am going to have to sell them just so I can keep up my fabric habit (and I do have a habit).  Emily and I have made a pact not to go fabric shopping  until August.  So far, so good but then again, it's only been a week.

I MIGHT AS WELL FACE IT I'M ADDICTED TO...

Pinterest.  Don't know what Pinterest is? Well in a word it's...AWESOME!!!  It makes me look like a creative genius (I'm not, I just pretend to be one). I could go into great detail about what Pintrest is and how it works but if you don't already know about it then you probably wouldn't be that interested anyway.   Just trust me when I say that countless hours can pass in what seems like minutes when you are under its spell.
My daughter in law Emily was giving me a hard time the other day about not having nearly as many pins (pinterest lingo) as she had.  I shot her a dirty look and put her in her place when I reminded her that I will only pin a project that I actually plan on doing. This seems to set me apart from most Pinterest users.
So Pinterest is the reason I haven't written a blogpost for two whole weeks.  I have been busy making, baking, and sewing up a storm and when I'm not creating, I'm perusing Pinterest to see what new and exciting things I can make next.  Check out what kind of awesome parties you can throw when you have Pinterest for a BFF.

Jungle Theme Party (Kere is trying to figure out how to convince William that he wants a Jungle theme for his birthday next year.)

Maple Caramel Popcorn
I have to post the recipe for this stuff.  It's almost as addictive as Pinterest.

Even the drinking glasses were Jungle theme.

I love the dollar store.  I got the vines, grass skirt, and the greenery there. cheap!

You will either think this is awesome or you'll be considering gathering all of my family and close friends for a pintervention.
